TWO MORE PODIUMS AT THE CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS FOR SETH LUCAS

With the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS returning to the track this past weekend, Seth Lucas and MDK Motorsports earned two more podium results at the famed Circuit of the Americas (COTA). After a successful test day, Lucas, and his co-driver Trenton Estep, made a pair of trips to the podium as they race around the 20-turn, 3.427-mile iconic circuit in their MDK Motorsports prepared and Motul USA branded Porsche.

“We were feeling confident heading into qualifying as our times in practice put us close to the top of the results sheets,” explained Lucas. “The car felt great, and the team did a good job nailing the initial setup the minute we unloaded off the trailer. We fine-tuned from there and drove to a pair of podium finishes in arguably our best weekend of the season.”

Packing second and third in the final two practice sessions before qualifying, Lucas was able to push their Motul USA #53 entry to a P4 result in qualifying, narrowly missing the pole position by two-tenths of a second, a huge result for not only the team but him as well.

Battling hard in race one, Lucas and Estep were able to advance forward and stand on the podium in third, adding another podium result to their 2023 resume. The second wheel-to-wheel action on Sunday morning was much the same for the young duo as another solid drive netted them a climb to the third step on the legendary COTA podium.

Lucas continued, “Our results this weekend is a true testament to our team. They are constantly pushing to evolve and make our entire race program more efficient. Trenton and I were able to keep the car clean and we executed flawless driver changes. The strategy by MDK Motorsports was great, and all this combined pushed us to our best results weekend of the 2023 season.”

The next round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS will take place June 16-18 at the VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia as it will be the start of a busy month of June.
